Police Using Anti-Riot Tactics!?!

November 11, 2011
More than 15 people have been arrested at Occupy Eureka during the 24-hour battle to reoccupy the Eureka Courthouse lawn. Fully geared riot police raided the occupation at 4am on Monday, arresting 13 assembly members and severely injuring a picketer.  The occupier’s camping gear and personal belongings were confiscated by the police, placed into a truck, and dumped into Coopers Gulch Park. The Eureka occupation regrouped soon thereafter and defiantly protested on the sidewalk in front of the newly police barricaded Eureka courthouse lawn.

News of the early morning raid spread quickly to the nearby Arcata and Humboldt (HSU) occupations through social media outlets, which subsequently called for a march in Eureka to publicly oppose the abuse of the Eureka occupiers and every American’s civil rights.  Occupy Humboldt members marched from the HSU campus to the Arcata Plaza at 3pm, spreading awareness about the morning’s police action and concluded at City Hall with Occupy Arcata. The groups reconvened at the Eureka Courthouse at 5pm and immediately began chanting and holding banners along the courthouse steps and sidewalk

We Stood in Solidarity with Occupy Oakland!

November 3, 2011
8 Humboldt Occupiers traveled down to oakland tuesday night at 1 a.m. We stood in solidarity with them and showed our support by marching with them, taking over the Oakland port and speaking during assemblies. We left Oakland by 11 p.m. Wednesday night for the drive back up to humboldt. By the time we left, the streets surrounding the camp were still occupied and people were celebrating in the streets!

We ♥ you Occupy Oakland!
